Provo is approximately 3 hours from Rock Springs, WY; 5 hours from Las Vegas, NV; 5.5 hours from Boise, ID; 7.5 hours from Denver, CO; 8.5 hours from Flagstaff, AZ.

This show is a NAN (North American Nationals) approved show, in which 1st and 2nd place horses in all breed and color classes will receive a NAN card.

Room information: I have five rooms reserved (4 double queen and one king) for the Friday night before the show at a special discounted price. If you call before May 1, Monday-Friday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. MST and talk to Jessica (she should answer the phone), tell her you are with the model horse show and there should be a room reserved under my name (Tara Oliver). She can give you the discounted rate of $89 for a double queen or $84 for a single king room. This hotel offers a free breakfast included in your stay.

Directions:
Take I-15 to exit #269 Orem University Parkway and head EAST towards the mountains for about 3.5 miles. You will go downhill into Provo. Turn left at the first stoplight at the bottom of the hill (2230 N). Then take the next right at the first stoplight. Drive past Pizza Factory and other office spaces to the end of that little street and you will see the Baymont Inn and Suites.

Fees:  $40 for a full table (6 ft x 2 ft). $30 for a "half" table (6 ft x 18 inches).  Entry Forms must be postmarked by May 1. After that date, there will be a late fee of $5 added onto the entry fee.

Cookie Contest: This year, we will have a cookie contest after lunch. Bring cookies made by you or your family to share after lunch. Participants will vote for their favorite cookie (not knowing who made each cookie) and the winner will receive a cookbook!

LUNCH is NOT included in the entry fee. There are many food choices within a mile radius (many right across the street), such as Zupa’s, JCW’s, a pizza buffet, Jimmy Johns, and Cafe Rio. I will provide a map in the show packet. Lunch will be no longer than one hour (maybe less, depending on time).

Refunds: There will be NO refunds for no-shows, for people asked to leave because of disruption of the show, or for anyone leaving early. Refunds will be considered up to two weeks before the show.

Proxy showing: Cost is $3 per horse, limit 10 per person. May be shown by another entrant for the owner of the horse, however fees should be paid for those proxy horses. Please send entry form with name of your proxy shower. The entry card must show the name of the horse owner AND the proxy shower.

Selling: Exhibitors may sell/trade pieces from your table, since I always like to see what eye candy is out there with a pricetag on it! But because space is limited, try not to let it take over your table or pay for a larger table specifically to sell.

Awards/Placings: Ribbons will be awarded for 1st – 6th place. The first and second place horses will be called back after their respective divisions for champ/reserve champ to be selected. Rosettes for Champions and Reserve Champions will be given. There will not be a workmanship championship.

Class Limit: 2 models per class per owner.

Class Info: Classes may be split, combined or cancelled, depending upon the number of entries, at the discretion of the judge and/or showholder. Please do not include halters unless they are appropriate for their breed. If in doubt, leave it out! Also, easily tipped models may be placed on their side with the understanding that the judge may pick it up to inspect the other side. There will be approximately FIVE MINUTES between classes, since we want to keep the show moving. Please stay on your toes!

Judges: Judges will be Tara Oliver (OF/CM) and Hanna Wangsgaard (OF). Please remember that classes will be based on the judge’s opinion, which varies from person to person! So please be content with the judge’s decisions.

3x5 cards: Each entry must have a 3”x5” card. If you do not have 3”x5” cards, please ask the showholder for some prior to the beginning of the show. On the up side, print clearly or type the horse's name, class number, breed and gender. On the downside, clearly print or type your name or initials. Entries without Entry Cards will be disqualified; 3”x5” cards are necessary for the show results. You may have a foot tag on your model for ID purposes, but for security purposes, please make sure that the only info in view is the name, gender, and/or breed of the model.

Documentation: Documentation for your horses is welcomed, especially in the cases of unusual breeds, colors or coat patterns.  Please don’t assume the judges know everything there is to know about every breed and color.  As a courtesy to other showers, please limit the size of your documentation to a maximum of 8-1/2 x 11 inches.

Divisions: HALTER ONLY. There will be Artist Resins (all sizes show together), Custom (all sizes show together), OF Plastic, OF Plastic Mini, and Workmanship. Mini models are little-bit/Pebbles scale and smaller. The mini OF divisions will be judged first, then the larger OF division will be judged afterwards, most likely in the afternoon. Artist Resins will be judged in the morning, followed by the Customs. Workmanship will be judged during each halter class – so if your horse is in a halter Resin or Custom class, it will also be judged on workmanship.

Results: Results from the show will be emailed to entrants and posted to the website after the show. If you prefer a hard copy by snail mail, please provide a LSASE.

Door prizes and Auctions: There will be door prizes called throughout the show. There will also be silent auctions that will close promptly at 3. We will hold raffles and sell tickets at 2/$1.
